The Bloomington Housing Authority offers an affordable housing program encompassing 320 units, ranging from 1 to 5 bedrooms, spread across three distinct apartment communities: Crestmont, Reverend Butler, and Walnut Woods. These apartments are Section 8-based, offering housing subsidies funded by HUD to eligible households.

RAD Properties

  • Walnut Woods: Located at 802 E. Miller Drive, this community features sixty 1-BR, 2-BR, and 3-BR apartments and is currently undergoing renovations aimed at improving various aspects including energy efficiency and accessibility.
  • Reverend E. D. Butler: Situated at 1202 W. 11th Street, this community offers fifty-six apartments and is also under renovation to enhance living conditions and meet modern standards.
  • Crestmont: Found at 1007 W. N Summit St, Crestmont is our third RAD community, undergoing renovations since Spring 2022 to address similar improvement goals.

Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program

This employment-focused program helps HUD-assisted households increase their earned income and decrease their dependency on welfare assistance and rental subsidies. Services offered include:

HUD Housing Low Income Tax Credit (LIHTC) Properties In Bloomington, IN
