Qualifying For HUD Housing Section 8 Vouchers In Elizabeth, NJ

Ford-Leonard Towers

Located at 69 Division Street, this 11-story apartment building offers amenities such as dual elevators, incineration chutes, laundry facilities, and a pagoda-style community room, complemented by ample parking. Recent upgrades include renovations to the community room and lobby, new kitchens and bathrooms, exterior site and parking lot improvements, as well as a conversion to a new gas-fired heating system.

Located at 33 Cherry Street, this 9-story building houses 249 active rental units and was constructed in 1963.

New Projects: E'Port Family Homes

The Housing Authority of the City of Elizabeth, in partnership with Genesis E’Port Family Homes LLC, has developed 60 units of affordable and supportive housing on First and Third Streets. The project features two 4-story elevator buildings, with a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments, including a unit reserved for a resident manager. Approximately 55 parking spaces are available, and 15 units are dedicated to the homeless, with supportive services provided by HACE, Bridgeway Rehabilitative Services, and other partner agencies.

HUD Housing Low Income Tax Credit (LIHTC) Properties In Elizabeth, NJ

Listed below are the Section 42, LIHTC apartments in Elizabeth, NJ. LIHTC apartment rents are not based on the tenants income. Income credit set aside brackets are selected during the apartment credit applications are used to determine the apartment rents.

The rents are based upon the Area Medium Income (AMI) and tenant based utility allowances. At least 20% of these apartments (listed below), must provide these low rates for low-income tenants.
